Ace Fiberglass Oxidation??

Giving the RV a bath....
Noticed the over-the-cab fiberglass (unpainted stock finish - believe it's called "Lucky-Penny") on the top our 1 year old (2014) Ace 27.1 is already severely fading.

Question is: Should I be expecting this level of 'oxidation' after just one year? Anyone?

More detail:
It's going from it's original brown to a molted white which is starting to spread & streak down the front cap.

The unit is not covered & so suspect the is sun attacking the finish, but am surprised it is happening so soon.

The unit spends its off time in a rather sunny & dry area in so/central Californicus (not exactly dessert).

Guess I'll have to cover it now, but so far have hesitated a/c the huge hassle involved in draping & undraping the beast. (We've lots of cover experience with a past Class C which was much smaller). Building a structure is out of the question for several reasons.

Thanks for any feedback .

Virtually anyplace South of SanFrancisco is a desert climate. If you can see sagebrush or palm trees, you are in the desert.

Yes, your fiberglass, (and exposed plastics, tires, and metals), is going to oxidize very quickly. How many times have you waxed it since you took delivery?

Just keep it well waxed with a product that provides UV protection.

OK, dessert it is.
Never had a fiberglass top exposed to the sun so much.
Sounds like nothing unexpected happening here then.

Have waxed many times with a carnuba type wash/wax but will look for something more substantial/appropriate.
Thanks.
