It is a 1996 32 foot Pace Arrow Vision. The dash air blows 40/45 degrees all day. We close the hallway door aft of the kitchen and keep the dash air on re-circulate. The driver / passenger area is very cool, usually only run the air on high fan when driving into the sun. We also have see thru sun shades (std on this MH) that we can pull down in the driver door and/or passenger seat if the sun is low on that side.
I'm aware that many MH's won't cool this way, but; this coach even with it's high ceiling seems to be very well insulated. We have never needed to run the house air while traveling and we live in South Florida.

As we were emptying out the coach today to get it ready for the detail guy so we can sell this [moderator edit], I decided to run the genny while in the driveway and run the air. It wasn't all that hot out either, and I had the generator door open for extra ventilation. I couldn't keep it running more than 15 minutes and it quit. This thing will be gone soon, not fast enough! This thing is a nut filled [moderator edit] Should have a new 35' Monaco in the driveway by next Friday it all goes as planned, then vacation time. Thor can kiss my big old white [moderator edit].
Laters!

Here is the newest email from Thor:
Mr Carp, I did some research and noticed that the New Generator we installed last summer, however new, it is manufactured in a timeframe where Onan had a defective fuel pump supplier, based on that info I feel strongly that the fuel pump needs to be replaced, this is a current Onan campaign and will cause the unit to flash a fuel related trouble code. I have a new fuel here to send out ASAP to have installed please advise if you would like me to send it to General on your behalf, or please advise how you would like to have this installed.
Kind Regards,

Is this the case with your specific generator, or do we believe the lot of generators out ACEs have have the same fuel pump?

No engineer here, but seems like if fuel heating is issue, the safest method would be to have a recirculating fuel line back to the tank. More flow would mean cooler fuel and rerout excess back to the cooler fuel tank.

Very interesting, I would have thought that if thor could have passed the buck to onan they would have pursued that already. Lets see if this is the new recommendation for everyone.

That's an effective AC unit. Normal range of roof units is to about 20 degrees below inlet temp. If you're in TX (or FL) and are getting 45 degrees out of the dash, no wonder it's keeping you cool...
All I'm saying is that in my experience, most units are going to struggle when on the road and it's 95+ degrees out..

I don't know much about the unit, so far as how much is Ford. I have seen discussions about different brands of dash units. I have no experience with pusher engine MH's but I would have to guess alot of effiecency is lost in distance to the front with that set-up. But; I would think any well maintained front engine set-up should at the least keep the driver area cool if it is re-circulating properly. If it is using a lot of outside air that would be a problem.
Sorry about getting off topic here but I know many struggle with this, I'll shut up .

Question, other than the generator problem how has the coach been? If the generator worked fine would you still want to sell? Would you recommend someone taking the risk on the new 2014 ACE model?
