Mine is still running strong and never shuts down due to any temperatures.

Just got back from a trip and the generator stayed on for 4 days straight. Mountain roads, 90+ degree temps.

Install the fuel pump and save yourself some headaches.
Yep, I tried it all. Wish I would have done the fuel pump first, totally solved the problem

Fuel pump on Amazon

Here is the exact one I installed inline for my generator:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I chose to wire mine up with in inline fuse and a regular switch on the A/C panel next to all the other goodies like pilot light for water heater, slide extension switch, water pump switch, generator start switch, etc.

I didn't see the need to have it switch on from a 12v relay. I want this fuel pump to run regardless of what the v10 engine is doing. Since I installed the switch next to the generator start up switch inside, it makes it really easy to remember to use the switch to fire up the fuel pump.

If i put that fuel pump switch somewhere else, i might forget to switch it off when i'm done with the generator.

I had to drill a hole thru the floor and fish the 12v wires up thru the bathroom wall to get it behind the panel. There are many other wires back there, so it isn't too hard to figure out where to drill your new hole. Be sure to silicone that hole up afterwards.

Simple light bulb wiring diagram below. Just replace light bulb with fuel pump.

I mounted mine about 1/2 down the chassis, and I used the power wire from the existing fuel pump and ran it back to my secondary fuel pump. I didn't want to have to worry about turning it on or off. It runs when the other one is running and I really don't ever even think about it now. I've had this on for a few years now and it has never died. Before It would die all the time when it was over 90deg.

This sounds like the way to do it.
Why though does heat effect fuel flow.
Is stock pump not enough?

The closer the fuel tank to install the booster pump the better. The reason is the main pump pulls a vacuum on fuel tank fuel lne to supply fuel to he genny and the flash point of gasoline is lower at lower pressure, so pulling a vacuum, causes the gasoline to flash or vaporize at lower temeratures. The extra fuel pump uses pressure after the pump instead of vacuum in fuel line, thus raising vaporization temperatures of gasoline in fuel line. When under vacuum, the fuel vaporizes and by the time it would reach he fuel pump without booster pump, the pump could not pump vapor and causing genny to starve for fuel at pump and carburator. Higher pressures or cooling n fuel line is needed during hotter weather on fuel line. I installed my pump about one foot from fuel tank and used foam pipe insulation together to eliminate my problem. Worked for me.

ACE generator has died after 300 hours

Just when I thought we would never have to revisit the generator issue again, here we are. We have a 2012 Thor ACE 29.2. We had the same problems as so many others had with the overheating/vapor lock and went through the trial and error solutions as they were posted to this thread starting in 2012. Thor paid for the vented door, the fuel line wraps and the heat shield although none fixed the issue. It was the push pump installation that ultimately did the trick. We used it for 3.5 years with no issues at all as long as the push pump was running. A few weeks ago the generator overheated again. The RV repair shop who installed the push pump said it was running properly and adjusted the altitude dial and said it ran for 90 minutes fine. It worked for about 30 minutes into our next trip and then died. This time for good. Rocky Mtn Cummins says motor is shot. The oil cap blew off and spilled oil everywere so we will never know if the local repair shop didn't screw it back on correctly or what caused its early death after only 300 hours. Now we have to buy another generator and need to decide where to put it. Would you all recommend putting the new one into the same place or switch compartments with the LP tank? When Thor initially proposed putting the LP tank into a compartment that is too hot to run a generator, I had concerns. But after this many years of people using this new location it seems like it is safe.

I put our push pump in the Motorhome about 4 years ago. Have traveled and used the push pump a lot since then. Genset has 1300 hours and motorhome has 58,000 miles on it.

I would not trade the genset location with LPG tank location. This would mean the genset would be on the "hangout" side of the motorhome. Exhaust and noise whenever you are boondocking in the sitting area.

Just my thoughts. My genset has worked fine with the push pump and I am hoping for years and hours more!
