Read as much as you can on these forums and other forums before you buy. Be informed. Ask questions.

Thanks. We have sold our diesel pusher but have found we miss RVing, so looking at smaller Class A or going back to a Class C to down size for the type of traveling we are now doing. The ACE certainly seems to have a "lot" for the price, so what are the down sides beside the obvious? I have not driven but how is quality, support for warranty work, will Thor ship items to me without having to go to a dealer for things I want to repair? I will monitor this forum to see any issues that owners are dealing with on the ACE.

For smaller rigs, I like the Sprinter-based Class-Cs, but they only go up to about 24-26'. Thor doesn't make one.

I don't own a Thor, but I've noticed a few threads where you can get a feeling about how users are supported:
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f121/ace-...-125555-2.html

Note, if you're looking at a particular Thor unit, I'd start a new thread and ask about it explicitly.. I think that's how you'll get the most comments.

Yes Thor will send parts directly to your house, they have done that for me twice now.

For the money, its very hard to beat the ACE, great value.

Thor does have issues with quality, however TO ME, they are no worse than any other manufacture and a lot better than some manufactures. I had a Gulfstream prior to my ACE, and my experience with Thor has been 1000 times better than Gulfstream. IF you want problems and brain damage, go get yourself a Gulfstream, yikes.

DegoRed, yes I had a Gulf Stream Class C and kept it 9 months before I traded! What a joke with support for me and the dealer, and it is a shame because I think they have some very good pluses on the inside and layout of their coaches. What do you pull? I have a Ford Focus and it weights about 3K, I was wondering what gas mileage you get and how is road stability in wind and passing trucks?

I have no idea on gas milage, don't even think about it, just fill up and drive.

We tow a 24' aluminum car hauler trailer with our Jeep on it. My tow weight is about 7,000 lbs.

With the Cheap Handling Fix, stability is good. Also added a Saf-T-Plus, however have not had a chance to take if for a long drive yet to comment on it yet.

The other key to happiness is the 5 star tuner, made a huge difference.

Do your research on dealers also, that's important too.

Let me help you cross one off your list "General RV Inc."

One pair in each nightstand, under the table, under upper kitchen cabinets, front desk, cabinet over couch, behind main tv, bathroom, two outside door, I think that's it.

And let me add one for serious consideration: Motor Home Specialist in Alvarado Texas. They have 2014 29.2's for $75,911. We have bought two coaches from them. The deals were so good that it was worthwhile flying to Dallas and driving the coach home. They pick you up at the airport. Their website is Texas RV Dealer, Used RVs for sale, motorhome sales, new RVs. Ask for Rodney, say I sent you.
