ACE slide topper problem

We have a 2017 ACE 29.2 and the slide topper stopped working part way out. It ripped the awning which I taped and upon inspection found there are two screws in the motor. One was gone, the other was part way out and evidently jamming the motor. I got that screw back in with loktite and it is working but with crunching noises. Has anyone replaced the slide topper awning and motor? Not sure if I should attempt it or go to a dealer. (just FYI my windshield still leaks inside, even after having it "sealed" at a dealer)

Didn’t know slide toppers had a motor, thought they were spring loaded. No problems with my 2015 29.3 yet.

Hey Triplewide, good to hear from you agian. I'm Shifty103 from earlier in case you haven't figured that out yet. I live in Canada now and just re-registered as my email has changed and I forgot my password.

Now as to my topper, you are probably correct about being spring loaded. What made me think of "motor" was when I looked into the problem I saw one screw was missing and the other was partially out jamming things and ripping the awning. I was able to put the screw back in (with loctite) and used Gorilla Tape on the rip, but it makes a grinding or crunching noise when used now.I've used it twice since my repair and it has worked each time, but with noise. Still not sure what I'm going to do.
