Awning arms squeak and vibrate

Our Palazzo awning arms squeak and vibrate terribly when letting the awning out or pulling it in. When I lubricate the arm tracks, the problem goes away.

Here's the problem ... I can't find a lubricant that last more than a week. I lubricate the arms because that is clearly what they need, but within a week of being out in the weather the problem comes back.

It seems like it needs some kind of thick lubricant. Does anyone have any advice? What is a good lubricant to use?

Go to any auto parts store and buy a small package (like a ketchup pack) or two of wheel bearing grease or other THICK GREASE lubricant.

Apply the grease to the sliding places or friction points with your finger or a Q-tip.

That should work well and last a long time.

I use this on the entry step. Lasts well for being so close to the road surface. Spray application, leaves visible (white) grease film.
