Awning over Slideout issue

'06 Hurricane Thor with Dual Salon Slideouts. When I Deploy the Awning, The Slideout Roller Arm on the passenger side, has a pin that protrudes upward, creating a rub/piercing point on the Awning canvas. We temporarily covered it with a piece of "pool noodle" to temporarily prevent wear. I tried to pull and spin the roller arm downward and upward with my awning wand, but did not want to apply too much presure and break. I'm sure this is operator error on my part. If any suggestions I would be grateful. 2 picture attachments included.
