I think you will find the 2 v v10 discontinued by Ford and all V 10's are 362 HP and 3 v engines. I have a 2016 Vegas with the 3V V10 and 362 HP. Just drove 4700miles and find the engine needs premium gas to work good. I can tell especially shifting on hills to high RPM.

Axis 24.1 (Ford E-350 V-10 Power)
I've logged nearly 9K miles in the last year with two trips through West Virginia. The high RPM shifting can be eliminated by canceling the cruise control while in hilly areas and maintaining constant control of the accelerator. If it is VERY mountainous, try shifting from drive to 3 move to the right lane and find a good speed that works.
I pull a Smart car on a trailer and my total weight as verified at the beginning of this season is 15,580 lbs distributed at follows:
Steering Axle - 4,620
Drive Axle - 8,200
Trailer Axle - 2,560
I use only regular grade fuel and with this load across all terrain in the last year I averaged 9.63 MPG. I keep cruising speed between 55 and 65 and try to pass only when necessary. Hey, I'm on vacation, what's the rush?

Has anyone driven or own a 2016 Axis/Vegas? I like the 2015 I drove, but I think the 2016 will be better for me. I want the extra towing power for my CRV.

I was told by a dealer that the difference in the published tow rating is related to a change in the tow bar, not the power of the coach.

Towing with Axis
As a reference point, after purchasing my 2014 Axis while on a trip, I towed a 4300 lb Ford Ranger from Florida to home in Virginia with no issues - did notice the extra weight on long pulls (Fancy Gap, e.g.). Recognizing that this was more than I wanted to tow long term, I now have a Nissan Versa Note behind, and hardly know it's there. My understanding is that the CRV is between the Ford and Nissan in weight. One consideration would obviously be what kind of terrain you might encounter on a frequent basis.

Motorcycle Carrier
I prefer to skip towing anything and instead have my motorcycle hanging off the back on a carrier designed to hold 600 lbs. In the picture here I put my bicycle awkwardly behind the MC but since then I've welded another receiver on to the MC carrier to hold a bicycle carrier so it will work much better. I'm trying to keep a light footprint and this RV makes it possible.

TMC is touting changes in the frame prep done by their subcontractor, MorRyde as the reason they were able to change to the 8,000lb receiver.
See:
I saw no specific details in the video, but the frame tail section is often the limiting factor in towing capacity for gas powered RV's. The Axis/Vegas GVWR is 12,500lb and GCWR is 18,500lb, so you might reduce the towing capability if your RV was loaded close to the GVWR.
Safe travels

I just looked at that video, it's not a 24.1, a bit confusing. The specs from TMC show the 2016 as having a E350 chassis, but other stuff I've seen say it's a E450. Anyone seen new spec's?

We have a 2016 24.1 and the power is good but I want to do a 5 Star Tune to it to improve the shifting properties of the transmission.
We have over 5,000 miles on it now and have no problems to speek of. The 2016 change to the Bathroom doors is a big improvement.

Sikorge; which chassis do you have in your 2016? Have you owned a E-350, is this any different?
