Have you checked with a local auto body shop. It would cost far less if you get it repaired. Just make sure it's a good shop. Good luck.

Guess others don't know what salvage yards you have contacted.

Several to check

Cargo Door Wanted

Quote with 3 local Body Shops $1,200 to $1,800 plus paint.
Local Reno Salvage Yards Nothing available. VisionRv, Arizona Salvage, Damon/Thor, Colaw, California Custom $2,400, Elkhart Salvage.
So am considering doing a repair myself.
Cant get any worse look than what it is now.
Have some skills in decision making and doing Custom cabinet Woodworking for 25 years.
And with You Tube Video How To's plus Buying a Hammer / Dollie Tools it may work.

Some Questions:
Initial need is how to separate and remove the thin Radius Edged Beauty Skin (attached with 2 face adhesive automotive tape) from the Aluminum Door support. Possibly Hair Dryer Heat along with Spray Adhesive Remover plus a Hot Blade inserted along Dbl face tape Seam ??????

Door has a Continuous Extruded Hinge across entire top edge, so entire door can be removed to my work shop bench.

all ideas appreciated.

Don't you have insurance that will help cover the costs?

Yes we have insurance with good sam

Yes we have National General which is Good Sams writer.
We have already used Insurance 2 times, with 2 different Rvs in past 3 years for approx $5,600.00 claims where we have paid our deductible.
Would like to avoid a 3rd time and try doing repair myself.
Unless someone can give us an idea as to whether we are headed to a policy increase by using again so soon.
I may be penny wise and pound foolish

Opinions appreciated.

I did the same thing to my gen door. I'm looking at a body shop to do mine, too. Actually we bought our (2007 37' Fourwinds Magellan) MH used. The door behind that one is bent, too, so need to get both done. Luckily where I work they have a body shop. But still it's expensive. I'm going to get a chain to put on it so it won't go that far up in case I forget again.
