Considering 2012 Windsport

We are looking at the 2012 Windsport 31d for possible purchase. We love the floorplan and have had good luck with the Ford chasis and V-10 engine on a prior and current RV. We are very much "gun shy" because of a prior 40 ft diesel pusher lemon. Anyone else out there who currently owns this product have any likes, or problems with a 2012 Windsport? Thanks for any advice!

I don’t have that particular model, but I did have an ’08 windsport and I currently have a ’12 Thor Daybreak. When I bought the daybreak I looked at everything on the lot including the windsports and hurricanes. I would say they are all about the same with subtle differences. The Ford chassis and engine are pretty reliable but I’m not sure how you’d feel about it moving down from a DP. It will probably be a pretty big difference from what you’re used to. Quality wise all the Thor products in that price range are the same. I personally find the windsport and hurricane cockpits a little less driver friendly than the daybreak, but again, opinion. Thor is a reputable company so if you like the floorplan and you realize that you’re getting less than you probably had in your DP then go for it. I’m sure you obviously realize that regardless of what you get it’s not a great investment, but if you use it and enjoy it then that is what matters.
