Cruiser porch and step light won't go off

My in laws purchased a 2015 cruiser 305rs and have been learning the basics of the unit. Today we stopped by their home after their 3rd adventure and they had some issues. 1st one was they jackknifed their rig trying to pull in to the driveway and blew their rear window out of their new ram 2500 6' bed. stuff happens.
2nd one was is they couldn't get their porch and step light off. The 2 lights are tied to a switch in the control panel. I took the control panel apart and checked the switch and it was good. When I disconnect the wires from the switch, lights stay on. The two lights were connected behind the panel with a 3m scotch tap connecter, when I disconnected the tap and separated the wires, the porch light stayed on and the step light went off. We pulled every fuse and the light didn't go off. Anyone have any ideas?
