Dissconect switch and charging batteries

My 2014 Thor windsport has a 12 volt disconnect for the coach batteries. If I leave the switch in storage mode ( disconnect ) well the coach batteries still charge when plugged into a 30 amp 120 outlet or does the switch have to be in use mode for the batteries to charge? I figured it would automatically charge when plugged into 120 regardless. After having the coach in storage for 2 months the coach and house batteries are both dead. It's been plugged into 120 the whole time. The only thing I can think of is that I put it in storage mode out of habit and it will only charge when the switch is in use mode. Does that make sense?

Yes, the battery/ies and the converter connect at the distribution panel where the fuses are housed. If you disconnect your batteries they are normally isolated. The are other ways to make the connection, but what I am describing is typical.

Depending on your manufacturer, your chassis battery may go dead in storage regardless.
