Happy New Year!!!
Just a friendly reminder for those of us who store their coaches for the winter. I spent some time last weekend going out to my coach (I miss her terribly ) and running all of the equipment.
Everything started up great (even my temperamental generator) and I even watched a little TV while everything ran for a bit.
I think that sitting around in storage is the hardest thing on these coaches.

Frankie, Some gensets will lose something in the windings(I can't remember the details) that prevents power generation. You did what is recommended to correct the minor problem. It was quite common a few decades ago for a genset that sat un-used for a few months to lose generating ability. I seem to remember that the fields needed to be "excited" or something like that.

Between that happening, and my voltage seems to be decreasing lately.I have read dozens of threads on guardian gensets and not many are in favor of these units.Mine has been problem free for almost 200 hours,so not complaining.Generac did send me a new oil cooler because of a known defect in the oil cooler system, something to do with hose clamps and to small a size.I havent installed yet,I have had no leaks as of yet.

Frankie , I also must have gremlins. When to take out the m/h yesterday 06 hurricane and open the door and flip on the chassis and coach switch and the step would not come out. then i flip the overide switch and still not steps. i when and made sure the coach battery is fully charge. And when to the bedroom and made sure to flip on and off and then back on all the circuit breakers . Still no steps. While the door is open I notice the step light was on when the door is open. that tells me at least the magnetic switch on the switch door is working. No the key was not in the ignition .
My question is my friend . Where is the FUSES for the steps. We look like rabbits jumping out of the m/h when we took it out to the mountains yesterday for a ride. What about the fuses up front motor in the intellictic box , is that where the fuse mght be , . I remember somewhere about a RESET BUTTON. Also yes all the interior lights do work on the coach battery . I read some one back that you have all the wiring sychematic for the 2006 hurricane wiring for Four Winds.

I dont have those schematics.I did write to fourwinds for my framing layout for my 34n.They sent them to me within 2 weeks.I was going to install an oem outside stereo entertainment center, but nixed the idea and put it in my outside tv compartment. Keep looking at the chassis fuse boxes.

All the fuses were OK , man there sure are alot of fuses . At the invertor box , then under the steering wheel and lots up front in the motor dept. Any way it was the motor for the electric steps. It had condensation inside? call the dealer , and warranty expired. . Then call the KWIKEE and they will honor it for 2 years from date I bought the m/h. Just made it by 1 day to spare. just got the RA authorization for the replacement by fax , for a brand new motor.
After I saw this post I decided to go outside to start up and take a joy ride.that is when the steps wouldn't work
