I had same problem on our Venetian. Did some research and found that many of the metal arms were problematic. To the point there were a couple of companies who's sole business is to rebuild them. Apparently they can lock you out of your coach. For that reason, I just bought some 1" nylon webbing and some stainless screws and made my own strap that limits how far the door can open. I mounted it on the top of the door and to the inside of the door opening on the coach. It rubs a little on the weather stripping but no problem. I have had to replace it once due to wearing thin from all the closings, so I would go ahead and buy enough 1" webbing to make 3-4 and keep them on hand. Go ahead and cut out the holes for the screws and melt the loose threads with a match/lighter and when you need to replace one, it will take about 60 seconds.
