Entry Steps
I have a 2016 Tuscany AT45. The entry step are making a very loud grinding noise when they reach the stopping point both going in and out. The steps do extend and retract and the grinding stops after about 10 seconds. I have removed the motor and gear assembly thinking that the gears had striped but they look good. Does anyone know if there is any kind of stop or switch that is built in to the unit that may have come out of adjustment causing the motor to continue to run after the steps have hit their limit?
Thanks for any info.

The grinding sounds like a bad gear. There is a gear inside the case the motor attaches to. You may have to remove it and take it apart. Likely it's stripped. The controller stops the motor when it hits a preset amount of current, indicating it has stopped and can't go any further.

Steps "stuck"
Our Kwikee brand powered steps won't move. Husband got the Ohm meter on the switches, etc. and there is power. You can hear the relay when pressing the button in the door frame. It's strange that the steps don't even make a noise or any motion at all when we try to retract (they are stuck in the "out" position). He is going to check the motor next, but sure would like to get any suggestions. He thinks they may be bent out of alignment. Coach is 2001 Alpine 40 ft.

Agree with HarryStone...
I have a 2017 Palazzo, and mine made the exact same noise. I've replaced both the motor and gearbox at different times. They were easy to replace, once you can fit under your step; 3 screws for the motor, and four bolts for the gearbox.
I ordered them directly from AM Equipment, who actually make the parts; they're significantly cheaper than Lippert or other after-market sellers. My motor said Lippert on the bottom, and "Made by AME" in fine print.
Hopefully it will be an easy fix for you. Good luck!

Not sure with your steps but ours had two wire connections that I removed and cleaned thoroughly with contact cleaner this fixed ours. We did not have any gear noise. Another thing, I make it a habit to clean the steps and lubricated all the moving parts.

A top Thor sin
Never stand on your steps until they are fully extended.
Never turn the engine key on when someone is on the steps.
Never service your coach without going over the above two statements with your advisor.
Always carry a spare motor.
