Fresh water sanitation

I know there are numerous post regarding sanitizing the fresh water tank. On our Challenger, there is no easy way to get the chlorox solution into the tank.

I'm thinking about buying a new sump pump and use it to pump the solution from a new 5 gallon bucket into the tank. Then keep them for this purpose only.

Am I crazy for considering this or is there a better way?

Using a bit of math, the volume of a 5/8" hose, 50' long is a bit more than a quart. If you pour the undiluted bleach into the hose, 4 fill and lifts of the hose should put a gallon of bleach in the tank. You could use a pump and all that, or you could just fill the hose and push it into the tank with the faucet. Or you could mix up a 5-gallon bucket and put it on a table or step ladder higher than the tank and start a siphon and let gravity do the work.

Do you have a house water filter? Remove the filter element, pour in a couple cups of bleach, install the filter housing, turn on the water to fill the fresh water tank. Run the pump to circulate through the house. Drain and flush.

MiracleGrow makes this hose end sprayer with male hose threads on the outler, and a sprayer head attached. Remove the sprayer head and attach to your city water connection. Put whatever chemicals in there you need; bleach to sanitize and baking soda to freshen.
