Front shade problems
So, got up this morning on the second day of a 3 week trip, tried to raise the electric shade on the windshield. Nothing! Shade would extend, but not retract. Called Thor Customer Service, got a tech immediately and he walked me thru the process for retracting the shade. At least we can see to drive. Problem still not fixed. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Sorry to hear of the issue hope it’s something minor, would however like to have the knowledge of how they got it retracted just in case this ever happens. Could be a REAL problem for sure! Can you share?

Sure. There is a tiny red button on the end of the shade on the driver side. Press it and the up switch at the same time. You should hear a series of beeps. This may reset the shade and eliminate the problem. Didn't for me. But it did allow me to repeatedly press the up button and retract the shade in small increments.

I had that problem with an MCD shade in my rig but it was the drivers side window. Turns out the motor was OK and running but the gears were stripped out. Only fix was to replace the whole motor assembly for $150.

Great dealer service
Took a detour by the dealer that I purchased the RV from (appt)and asked them to check the shade. Also, have been hearing a noise when extending the large slide. They checked both, found a bad switch on the shade and a fraying cable on the slide. Had us back on the road 3 hours later. Plus, no charge. Can't ask for better service.
