Generator problem (not code 36) ACE 30.1
We ran the generator yesterday, just for maintenance. The generator ran fine, however, it would not power anything in the coach. We checked the breaker on the generator it was fine. We have power when hooked to city power. So the house breaker seems fine.
Is there a fuse on the generator? I checked the manual and can't find where it would be.
Can anyone give us some other things to check?
Thanks for the help.
Lisa

Cycle the genset breaker off then back on.
If you have an ATS that could be your problem
Can you check for power coming from the genset to the ATS?

Ahh that makes sense. Nope we don't have one. ACE is a lower end Class A.

Kix, we decided to try again. Even though we cycled the breaker 3 times yesterday with no luck. When we tried today, it worked!
I think we need to have the breaker switch checked.
Thanks to all who gave me suggestions.

Your ACE has an automatic transfer switch, all the ACE models come with that. That still could have been your problem, it might have been stuck and by turning the breaker on and off might have helped.

Thanks, so does that mean we don't have to turn everything off and unplug from shore power or vice versa when transferring from one to the other?

Automatic transfer swith means you don't have to manually flip a swith or plug in a cord to use the power coming from the generator.
Not sure if your supposed to turn everything off when switching from one power source to another. Sometimes I don't, and leave my AC running.

If you're plugged in to shore power and you start the generator it automatically starts taking power from the generator, then I unplug from shore power and nothing shuts off.

Where is the ATS just so we know? And yes, like an idiot, I didn't realize the generator had a reset switch on it until the next morning after my wife decided to turn the microwave on while running the a/c, the main house lights, 2 t.v.'s, and an outside stereo. Duh

In the 29.2 it's located under the bed just behind the breaker box, not sure if the 30.1 is in the same location.
