Help With Issues Thor Ace

Hi everybody,

We've been Rving since 1997 and traveled through every state and province (with the sole exception of Newfoundland as our MH does not swim )

We like photography and visited most national parks in both USA and Canada. We've taken over 150,000 photos posting some 500 albums on Google for family and friends.

This summer, I bought a 2015 Thor A.C.E. which was still brand new.

We've had some problems with it. Hope this is only due to it's 3 year station in the dealer's yard and not poor quality.

The passenger side wiper got stuck under the windshield and after being fixed at the dealer, it many a time now refuses to stop whatever I do.

Two days ago, the Lippert jacks refused to lift and I had to use the emergency retract procedure.

I'll pass over the too many rattles I'm fixing little by little.

Over all, I like the machine quite a lot. I owned a Monaco Monarch for 11 years before this one.

My current problem is the fact that Thor did not install speakers in the cabin, only in the bedroom and in the living room area 7 feet behind us. With the noise of the road and wind, we have to put the sound too high to hear anything and it is way too loud for our passenger in the back.

I hoped to be able to use a bluetooth speaker (iHome) but the on board Axxera sound system cannot pair with it.

I do not know if it depends on the iHome or the Axxera. On the other hand, is there an easy way to tap the sound signal into a small speaker that I would put on the dash?

I'd appreciate some advice.

Sorry for the long story.

Wish you all the best.

Using the search bar located towards top right of the home screen, ( shows "powered by Google") can yield good results for a specific question.

A few threads that may help you in your quest for ACE info:

Assuming you have the Axxera radio, mine has front and rear speaker pair outputs. The factory only used one pair for the speakers in the ceiling. Some have removed the radio, hooked a pair of speakers to the unused outputs and placed the speakers on the cockpit floor. One on each side of the doghouse. Others have mounted the two speakers in/on the dash or in the overhead bins of the cockpit.

I insulated the underside of the cockpit floor ( in engine compartment ). This greatly reduced the noise inside the cockpit, allowing normal conversation and radio enjoyment. Prior to the modification, I would have the radio set at about 25 and have a hard time understanding what was broadcast. Now have it set at about 14. Cockpit DB level is about the same as my Jeep Grand Cherokee after the modification. The insulation cut down on heat transfer as well.

As you get familiar with this site, you may want to add info to the bottom of your posts, like coach type. It helps others determine if they can offer advise based on their coach being similar. Lots of good info here.

Welcome
