It may not have a switch... like my 98... You may find after you light it from the exterior access panel (if it has one), it will fire up and work just fine. reverse process to shut down...

Brand/Model of water heater would be helpful......

Gas only pilot ...manual light

Atwood

Suburban

If not one of those styles then it would have 'electronic ignition' and an On/Off Switch would be inside RV
Wall panel, central control panel etc

It also depends on what model and floor plan you have.

Our switch is 'hidden' (recessed) in a little cutout above the kitchen drawers, facing the cabinet/refrigerator across. You can only see it if you are standing right in front of it.

Our switch has not even an on/off marking, when turning on it glows red until the water heater fired up, then goes out.
