Hi,

We are new to this forum and new to our 33H 2007 Hurricane. We had a 30 foot Class C and decided to upgrade.

So far, we love the RV, just have a question on the Fresh Water tank. I did a search and didn't find my answer.

We hook up the hose (at home) to fill the tank. While we are out dry camping and run out of water... how do I add more water?

do I use the pump to pull water from a jug?

The older C's were nice as you could pour water into the tank via another inlet. Not so on the newer A's.....hose only. Some upper end MHs may have a pump feature (just guessing). But I'm pretty sure you're stuck with just a hose on your Hurricane (I assume you've already went through your manuals). We just make sure we're topped off before dry camping, then conserve conserve. If you're handy, you could add a pump system yourself, I've heard others have done this.

Our pump sits inside of the cabinet where you fill the tank. There is an additional tube that is attached at the inlet side of the pump with a tee fitting and a valve. I was thinking that you could get a longer piece of tubing and set a Jug outside the coach and put this tube in the jug.

I was just wondering if anyone else had seen this setup.

I think what you have there is what I built for mine. The alternate inlet tube (rather than sucking water from the tank) is to put in a jug of anti-freeze to pump anti-freeze through the system to winterize. I assume the pump you are talking about is the water pump that's used to pump water from the tank for the system when not on city water. If this is the case, you could do as you're thinking. However, it would only use the "Jug" as a reservoir tank. It would not take water from the jug and pump it to the regular water tank. That said, if you had say 5 gal jugs, you would use them as your water tank, after your regular tank was empty.

yes, just as an extra inlet tank.

we live in AZ. i don't have to worry about winterizing... lol

I have the same setup in my Hurricane. It's what clyon51 said. The short tube and valve is used for winterizing the system with antifreeze. It will fill the system with antifreeze. It will not fill the tank with water or antifreeze. I had thought about adding a second T fitting and shutoff valve to the pump outlet. I could then connect a hose from the outlet fitting to the coach's water inlet and set it to fill the tank when drawing water out of a jug connected to the pump inlet fitting. Maybe not worth the effort. Better fresh water management is the simpler solution.
