I can't drive for three weeks? Help with Thor warranty people.
I'm stuck on the road with a failure that makes it so I can't continue.
I dropped it at the nearest dealer that Thor referred me to. They say it will take them three weeks to get the parts in.
I explained that I have to hit the road tomorrow to get back to work in time for the end of my vacation and asked if they could just rig up something temporary so I can get back on the road. They said that doing so would void any warranty coverage.
Is there some magic phrase I can use with Thor's warranty department, or am I literally stuck here for three weeks? It seem ridiculous that they would not have a policy to allow people to do what it takes to get back on the road and still have the remainder of the work covered by warranty later.
Also, I thought about just rigging it myself, making the trip, and getting the work done later. But, I'm worried that this will void the warranty too. Will it?

I'd suggest another call to Thor to see what they can do for you, rather than going with what the dealer says.
It might be prudent to get it in writing, so that the next dealer doesn't say 'sorry mate, you voided your warranty'.

As others stated, call Thor & see what they can do. How far are you from home? Do you have a toad w/you? Can you leave the coach at the dealer & come back to get it later? If you don't have a toad, can you rent a car to get home & go back to get the coach later?
At minimum, call your supervisor & let them know you'll be delayed returning. Good luck.

I'd be tempted to fix it myself temporarily. What is wrong with it?

I think we'll wait forever on this one.
My guess is it's chassis related in which case any Ford dealer can service it under warranty and would surely have the parts. We'll see, maybe.

These are going to break at some point. You always have to have a backup plan.

I wonder if he took it to CW. Either way I'm not surprised at 3 weeks.

Regardless of the problem, Thor has no liability to get you back home in a timely manner. Taxis and airplanes run every day.
Would be nice to know what problem is preventing him from driving the coach and not be a Ford problem
