I saw the price at Lazy Days was $186K for the new RE

So is there actually going to be one at Pomona or are they just announcing in conjunction of being at the show? I am flying down to Ontario tomorrow evening and will be at the show Friday and Saturday. If one is actually going to be there I want to see it!

The 38RE looks interesting. Thanks for sharing. Not being a toy hauler wouldn't work for me but I'll bet they sell a bunch of them. The outdoor kitchenette with a big screen TV and half bath off the patio is a great idea.

I'm hoping to make it to the show in Pomona if there's one there I'll post a picture or two.

If either of you do go and do see it - PLEASE - drop a note.

According to this report the 38RE was on display in Elkhart 09/2014 - so we know the prototype has been built:

I was thinking of going, but San Diego to Pomona, then parking plus admission just for a CHANCE to see new stuff(?)

IMHO Thor should keep the Outlaw line to RVs that actually haul toys, the RE should have been named with something different and new.

So I was heading up I-75 and had an Outlaw sighting! A rare event indeed. Was a couple up front and headed northbound, honked as I passed by in my Durango... did it happen to be anyone here?

It fits!

Made our 3rd trip in our new Outlaw to Key West last weekend. In case anyone is curious, YES it will hold a Harley Super Glide, CanAm Spyder and a Honda Interceptor all in the garage. Had to remove the rear fold down bunks to squeeze all 3 in but it worked.

Of course, can't risk getting booted from the Outlaw club

Oh come on, why wouldn't you want to make what should be about a two hour drive but will end up being a 3 hour drive!

I would agree. I think they did it to compete with Newmar. With them you can get a Canyon Star in a variety of floor plans; two of which are toy hauler floor plans. So they spin off of that on the Outlaw, keep on the party patio and wha-la, more options in the same line.

An Outlaw w/o a garage?!?! OUTRAGEOUS!!! Something needs to be done about this blasphemy. Like I stated earlier, with the class C OTL, they are diluting the name brand. If Thor really wants to make a splash with a new OTL model, I would suggest a new model with a 12 foot garage, and possibly more chassis choices, maybe bring back a Fred.

Great photos Bob, thanks for posting those. That's alot of bike in one garage! For some reason I thought the CanAm was too long for the garage, good to know. One of these days I am going to get my OTL to the beach.

OUTLAW 38RE First Photo

I found a photo from the 09/2014 Elkhart Open House, of what could be the 38RE:
TMC Displaying 60-Plus Units For Open House | RV Business

Here is the photo - clipped and highlighted...

I think, labeled with the arrow, is the door from the "Fiesta Deck" into the rear bathroom(?)

Why does TMC make it so hard to look at these things?!

Everyone was great helping us prepare and hunt for our 2015 MD and I wanted to give you some feedback on our purchase experience and lessons learned. First Let me again say THANKS to all of you who provided direct feed back through this board and personal emails. It helped immenseley and I do not believe we would have left in as good shape as we did without your help.

We made our purchase from North Trails RV in Ft Meyers Fla and we both agree it was a great experience. I am accustomed to turning over complex equipment to tough customers so between my previous experience and preps of this group, I felt I was well armed. Before we flew to FT Meyers, I had read all of the posts here, the various links on pre-acceptance processes and check lists, the 152 page Thor Manual and asked ALLOT of questions from the group.
The North Trails RV group were absolutely great and truly showed a level of customer service, pride in their company and a level of professionalism I had not expected. Tam and I were met at the airport by the salesman, John, who informed us the coach would be ready in about two hours for a 1 PM for inspection. They had found an issue with a slide yesterday and were finishing up repairs. He gave us a car so that we could grab lunch. We returned at 1230 and the "team" met us. The Delivery Manager, Derek met us along with his supervisor Lonnie. With them they brought a tiger team of technicians standing by to correct any issues that turned up. As prep for this, I had sent a few of the detailed postings on issues including windshield separation, marker light sealing, etc ... During the inspection, it became apparent that every technician had read my correspondence and were quick to show me what had been done. They gave me their cards and told me to call 24/7 and they would respond. We did --- and they responded. I should also say EVERYONE took pride in their job, worked quickly and did the job the first time --- right. As a former career Navy guy ... I found it impressive that everyone that worked with us --- were properly dressed in the "uniform of the day" to interact with the customer. Again, it was apparent that everyone took pride in their product and their company.

That's not say we did not find issues:

--- front step was inop
--- several switches wired backwards
--- Outlaw Rockguard missing
--- two seat cushion had minor damage (they are replacing)
--- cosmetics
--- awning motor worked inconsistently and they replaced the motor immediately
--- motorized shade at garage entrance inop
--- porch pins missing

I operated everything and inspected everything. It took more then eight hours the first day and continued into the next day. It was exhaustive and exhausting. They did not rush and they fixed everything (even after accepting the coach). I think that is the advantage of purchasing from a company that has a full service repair department. I should also mention that the every employee was positive, spent time answering questions and were very interested in making sure our experience was a good one.

We stayed two days at Cypress Woods where Patty comp'd us for a couple of nights because we purchased from North Trails. Again great experience.

We are now headed North as Cadillac Bob can attest... Thanks for the pic .... and after 440 miles on our first day --- everything still works as advertised (Oh I did have to a little repair on the motor for the front step --- North Trials walked me through it on the phone).

The last thing I need to figure out is Thor's concierge service ... seems the salesman and business office were not we'll versed in it.

BTW, driving this thing is a "trip" .... beer in the refrigerator after the day was done was welcome and required.

Thanks for the help and "We Love our Outlaw!"

Russ and Tam

Congrats on the new Outlaw! I hope my postings helped with your delivery experience in a positive way. I have a factory visit scheduled for March to get my major issues fixed, but everything has been manageable since delivery. Don't be surprised if you find other issues as you use the rig, it's just the nature of the beast.
