Information on Thor

Information on Motorcoach
My husband and I are new to the motor home/coach. We were looking at a Ace 27.2 by Thor to purchase, we have not taken ownership of it..I've been reading reviews and not looking so good..Any feedback good, bad suggestions would be welcome before we do ? If there is a better 'beginner' motorcoach line we should consider , suggestions are always welcome..

Looked at them too. They look nice but are less well made and have had some issues with the older one's with generator placement. In essence the ACE and FR3 and maybe one or two others seem to be aimed at folks who want to do a couple of weekends and maybe a week or two a year. Maybe hauling the kids to game weekends. Not particularly road worthy and not intended for heavy use. There is a long thread of ACE mods that will give you a clue about a lot of things that need attention.

Do yourself a favor and take a look at a Newmar Bay Star Sport in the same size. It will be more money but you will like the fit and finish much better.

We have been RVing in class A motor coaches for 17 years; traveling about 11,000 miles a year. When it became time to buy a new motor coach, we mad the pilgrimage Elkhart, Wakarusa, Nappanee, Middlebury and the vicinity for two weeks of factory tours. I came away with the opinion that in quality for the money Thor was the best. Thor's customer support is is among the best, if not the best in the industry. We made the 650 mile trip to MHSRV to pick up the exact coach we wanted and have not been disappointment in any way with the purchase, dealer or Thor's support. Total problems in the first 11,600 miles have been a blown fuse that I could not find (Thor payed to have a mobile service tech come out and show where it was) and a battery charging relay that failed (replaced on warranty).

The A.C.E. is a best selling RV in North America for offerings, price point and versatility.

There are VERY few RV's lines that can compare for those measures and nothing is even close from the brands who make less total RV's than TMC make of the A.C.E. alone

For REAL feedback go ask owners like those making their A.C.E. models even

But, realize the A.C.E. is an entry level RV. That does not mean any problems with safety or roadability, but is less "glitzy".

Best luck

we have the ACE 29.2. Purchased it new in 2013. Had issues like the macerator and the full wall slide. We did away with the macerator and the slide (knock on wood) has been working as it should. Seems many new coaches have some issues. We are keeping our ACE and making adjustments as needed. It is easy to drive and we can take it almost everywhere.

We looked at getting an ACE twice. It has a lot of nice features and some real gotcha's. Definitely aimed at the young family who want an A not a C for occasional use. Not something we will buy as a retired couple. That has little do to with the formica vs corian vs granite counter top type issues. We'd prefer formica in a Newmar. ;-)

Hi, we have a 2014 ACE 27.1 so far their technical guys have been great. The quality of the coach has been on par for the industry. Does the coach have a few shortfalls Yes but what coach doesn't. I am quite handy and able to fix a lot We are happy with ours, Sara
