Mice? Yuk!

While boondocking four (or more) mice got into our Ace 29.3. No hookups for them to climb up so I am not sure how they got in. I put Fresh Cab Rodent Repellent in the coach, also a trap (only got one mouse so far)....Your experiences are appreciated...

I found the mice in a clothes drawer...they had eaten part of one of my tee shirts. I have pulled out all the drawer on that side and did not see any evidence the mice had established nests etc....

Help!

Tomcat mouse bait chunks placed behind access panels, cabinets, under drawers, etc keep our RV rodent-free.
If you have pets in the RV, one of our members designed a pet-safe mouse bait station that works well.
You'll not find a dead mouse inside the RV because the poison makes them very thirsty, they must go outside the RV to find water, where they die.

We've found mice in our motorhome twice now.

Our first visitor joined us last year while we were at Wood Buffalo National Park in the Northwest Territory. The small town of Ft. Smith provided limited shopping options and the bait traps we picked up there had little success. A few days later, when in Yellowknife, we shopped around and got some glue strip traps. A day or two later we caught the little bugger and said our final goodbye to him.

We have now resorted our food stuff, placing all wheat, flour and other packaged content they can chew into in our upper cabinets that are far less susceptible to the little critters. I also placed a number of glue traps under our kitchen cabinets, in the washer/dryer cabinet and other out of the way places they might crawl, including in the basement. I like the glue traps in that they can sit for virtually ever, just waiting for a mouse to step onto one of them.

About two months ago, while doing a visual check of the traps, which I do every few weeks, I found another little furry visitor but this one had a less welcoming response as the only sign of his being on board was what was stuck onto the trap.

My first TT had some mice in it and I found a nest in the inverter. Anyway I was able to see the mom at the time and chased her out. After everything was gone inside I went with great stuff and sealed all the bottom small holes and also sealed completely around the black and grey tanks as they crawled in thru the plumbing holes. After this never had another problem at home or at the campground. Ok I also built a pole shed to keep critters away and had an outdoor cat.

For my current TT I had a mouse that was in the bathroom cabinet as I found shredded toilet paper after our first time using it. I was pissed off as I got this TT the week it came off the assembly line and it was less than 4 weeks old. Anyway this has a chroloplast bottom to it so I used caulk all around the frame anywhere there was a small hole so there were no entry points. I also have steel wool where the power cord entry point.

Now I have no problems and we are raising 3 more ferrel rescue cats so I will be good to go and 3 cats have a chance at a happy life.

Since i found evidence of mice in my coach back in '01 I've kept several of these in different locations through out the coach and have never again seen mouse sign or found a dead mouse.
