Miramar weight

Hey everybody,

I'm a long time lurker but first time joining up. We're getting closer to making the jump from our travel trailer to the motorhome world. We're really interested in the Miramar 34.2 but I'm trying to see if the weights will work with my likely toad. We'll have a Chevy Traverse so the weight on the vehicle is close to the hitch capacity. I haven't been able to find any info though on the actual weight of the motorhome to see if I'd go over or not. I've tried getting that from the sales people but they haven't a clue what they were talking about. (as an aside, it's amazing how ignorant salesmen are to what they are trying to sell. I'm no genius when it comes to these things but it sure makes me feel smart everytime I try and talk to them.)

Anyway, if anybody out there with one could help me out with what weights they have I would appreciate it.

If RV salesmen knew anything they would have a real job!

I have a 34.2. The weight when it left the factory with 1/4 tank gas was ~17,900 lbs. The weight with a full tank of gas and propane, driver and full of camping stuff was 19,300 lbs. That leaves 6,700 lbs for family, food, luggage and toad. The capacity get's used quickly.

You will find a trade off with the gas coaches. Since the max capacity of the F53 chassis I think is 26,000 lbs, the smaller the coach, the more towing capacity it will have. The 34.2 is a fairly large unit, so the towing capacity will be relatively lower.

For what it's worth, my toad is a little over 3,500 lbs. It tows fine... and I don't feel it at all.

BTW - the 34.2 is a great unit.

Good luck.
