My palazzo adventure

Well so far no issues other than other drivers cutting me off. Left home ( Harrisburg, pa ). Friday morning the first and drove to garner, nc for the evening/ overnight stay. Got up and continued south to Hilton head island, sc. This is the first time in a class "a" only park and so far love it, will post more later since I got here at 3 pm and went out for dinner. So far no issues with the palazzo, but did notice it doesn't like to break hard, it will but then it shakes for. A couple of min after. Well final destination will be sebring, fl.

I know what you mean about being cut off and why do cars expect you to slow down to let them in from on ramp? Ok if they are ahead of me and going faster but not if I am going faster and can't move out of my lane. Yesterday someone blew his horn when he was unable to getting front of me from on ramp and then shortly thereafter laid on his horn while passing me. So watch out for Florida drivers especially the lane surfers that jump in front of you.

FYI to you world travelers and Palazzo owners: Ha. I broke my own cardinal rule this week while traveling thru the small roads in Alabama on way to Florida an purchased some fuel at a small town Mom & Pop store. About 100 mile later the dash is printing out " ! water in fuel". Didn't worry too much about it till it stayed on constant & the check engine light came on. I hope it was like my pick up and had a water drain on the filters. So I pulled into a store parking lot and and crawled under to check. Much easier than my pick up. It has two fuel filters on passenger side of motor. The back filter is what I would call a fuel/water separator . Has a see thru plastic bottom with a drain valve. Mine had about 3/4 inch of water in it. Very easy to drain the water out & dash was happy again. I checked it the next day and drain it again but could see no water in it. Real easy to see the water in it. My normal rule is to buy fuel from the stations that sell the most fuel. Less opportunity for water to stay around!! Russell

Congratulations on the successful outcome and info for those of us who might encounter this.

Speaking of fuel, I was startled yesterday when I stopped for fuel and the pump had a sign on it saying the fuel had biodiesel in it. I quickly checked p V16 of the Cummins manual but could not find mention of biodiesel but a quick look at the Cummins forum made me think it was ok.

The RV pump said B20 but the truck pumps I went over to said B10. There was a tanker truck delivering a load so I asked the driver why the difference. He said someone must have take. The sticker off the RV pump because this time of year it is all B10.

This was my first experience at a Flying J and it was interesting to see the RV pumps, propane fill, and dump station all available. I know some complain about the higher prices but I have the RVPlus card that eases the pain somewhat with 9 cents off per gallon and discount on dump and propane.

I'm with you Jerry. Use my Flying J RV Plus card whenever I can. Even downloaded the app to track stations.

Just applied for my Pilot/flying J RV Plus card. I already had the RV Awards card and was not aware of the charge card that provided higher discounts...thanks to all!

the fuel/water seperator, did that trigger the dash light or was it something else (like fuel mixture) that triggered the warning?

Look in the door to your DEF tank. Just behind the DEF tank you will see the water separator. On the bottom of it there is a turn valve that dumps the water. You can lower your right side jacks a little and make it easier to crawl under. Not an OSHA approved idea. Ha

Dry Camping

Headed out this weekend for our first try at dry camping. We want to head out to the south west this summer so might need the practise. Going to be camping on the beach this weekend.
