Yes Gary, I believe you are correct. For some reason that mystifys me, Thor is producing Outlaws that have less garage capability, rather than more.
I have a first gen model with the 24k chassis and occasionally carry my 2nd gen (2017) Smart (2300 lbs). I do have to watch the weight on my rear axle (15.5k capacity).
When looking at Outlaws, make sure you get the 26k chassis, which became standard sometime in the 2010’s. Also, confirm the weight of the Smart, 1600 seems a little light, even for the 1st gen. Also, it is a challenge to tie the Smart down in the garage. Not a lot of room in there to maneuver your limbs while threading the tiedown straps under the low clearance Smart. I keep fantasizing about some custom-made cushions that I can just wedge between the Smart and the garage walls to fix it in place back there.
