Opinion from Thor owners

I own a 08 Winnebago 39Z DP which we like very much but want to purchase a 44-45" tag with rear bathroom. Looking at the Tuscany. Some salesmen tell me to stay away from Thor, but I don't trust them any further than I could throw one. I would buy a new or slightly used machine. If you own a Tuscany I would love your opinions as to quality etc.

thanks jim

I'm sure your 'dealer' does not handle Thor products, or else they would not make such blatant statements... if you like the Tuscany and it's floorplan, and many of us do and wish we had one, then go for it... all manufacturers have issues from time to time, it matters not much which you choose... I believe that the Tuscany is probably the best overall value for it's size coach, with Tag, in the industry... but...

you can also look into the FR Charleston, Entegra(nowThor) Insignia, Newmar Ventana, AmericanCoach Revolution, and the Winnebago Journey / Meridian of course - did I leave out anyone? : )

We moved from an Itasca Horizon to a Tuscany 40 KQ and really like the Coach. We had some problems and after fighting with the dealer trying to get the repairs taken care of took it to the factory. They were great and took care of all the issues. This is our exact experience with our Horizon when we bought it new. Can't get the dealers to do anything in a timely fashion.
The coach drives better than my Horizon and is quieter as well. Storage is outstanding and I have no regrets about buying the Tuscany. We are still busy customizing it to our likes.😊
The Horizon and Tuscany have the same chassis (IFS) and engine so it is a good comparison from that aspect

We had a Tuscany and loved it! Had to downsize due to storage problems. Only problem I ever had with the Tuscany was the radio/camera, Thor replaced the faulty system without hesitation!!! Because of the great trouble free fun we had with the Tuscany we purchased another Thor, our current Windsport 29M. If we can ever go back to a DP it will be a Thor! Plus I have always felt Thor has some of the best floor plans on the market!

as a past owner of a 13 tuscany 45 lt.. I would say run from this brand,,

was very cheaply made ... insulation was really bad.. very drafty.. we had to

run extra heaters in the cab to just be warm when driving in the winter.

all the switches and finish work is toy hauler quality.. then good luck ever trying

sell it.. dealers told me that thor tuscany brings the lowest book price of all

motorhomes.. they don't want them on there lots.. its easy to get caught up in

a tuscany because they pull out like a circus tent and do have a lot of space.

there floor plans are good.. but they just won't last.. buy a couple year old

newmar or entagra for the same price and then you will own a real diesel pusher..
