Scott,
If that is true, then Demon changed the design of the loft deck between 2007 and your rig's year. The ceiling of our garage is a thick plywood that held the screws.
For a deck with hollow void, then you can use the holes you drilled with a nut/bolt set by drilling all the way thru. Carriage bolts would be nice and smooth on the topside - under the bed.
If you don't want to drill deeper holes for bolts, then you must find a hard point like a stud - snake a wire hanger into the holes you drilled, poking around for the stud.
- Or - spread out the weight that might hang on the bar with an oversized board or metal plate (like diamond plate used on the lower walls) between the bar and ceiling...use lots of smaller screws and glue to hold the board to the ceiling. A board can be painted to make it look nice.
Don't let this get you down...you can do it.
Hope that helps

Spent a few hours making the Outlaw happy today. First we put up stronger velcro across the top mounting portion of our garage. The stuff that was sent with the bug screen didn't like the slick plastic in the garage so we used Velcro Industrial in a 2" width and did it in white so when the screen is down it would be nearly invisible.
Second on the list was to attach a hook for the broom (one of two ideas we stole from Steve)
This was a tough one because we wanted a place to hang motorcycle jackets and liked Steve's idea of a stainless bar however there was some difficulty finding a stud in the ceiling/loft. Patience prevailed and we found found a solid mounting area. This is an 18" bar from Home Depot for about $20.
To finish the day up we scrubbed her from top to bottom including the roof. Tomorrow evening I will put a coat of Protectall on the roof to help with UV protection. I really need to get ambitious and wax her soon or hire a team to help do it.

Loft Stair Handrail
I have always wondered why there wasn't more railing for the loft stairs.
Because of the angle, I always exited the loft the same way I entered, with my front toward the stairs so I don't miss a step (old shipboard rules for decending steep gangways).
Well now, I can exit with my backside on the stairs - thanks to a simple railing on the wall:
This handle rail is the one that was originally on the side of the entry door stair (replaced with a new low profile handle shown in previous post).
And -YES- that is the edge of the King Size mattress...it is MUCH bigger than the original with the 6" mattress and 2" memory foam mattress topper - very comfy!

Has anyone installed a soap dispenser in their kitchen sink area? I am thinking it would be very handy.

Windshield Wiper Protection
Probably the simplest mod possible...protect the wipers against sun damage and from freezing to the glass in cold weather.
Hardware stores sell 2 sizes of pipe insulation, either will fit. If you avoid the ones with glue on the edge, installation will be easier.

That's what I use. 1/2" pre-split pipe insulation, 36" long in a pack of 4. My wipers also rest horizontally like on a car so I place a tennis ball under the arm to keep the blades off the windshield in the winter so the snow doesn't build up.

Yes, we replaced the faucets and added a soap dispenser. Comes in very handy for the times we do dishes. There is plenty of room after you remove the partition to get access to the hot water tank by-pass valves. Never did like this partition anyway so just left it out as it is just for looks anyway and the trash can fits better.

Do you happen to have any photos? What faucet did you use? Inquiring minds want to know

I'll get a pic soon. Laying tile in the basement right now. Not fun

I always get excited when I see another Outlaw out and about. I was just at the Laughlin River Run last week and saw a 3808 set up at the Riverside Casino RV park. I stopped by a couple of times but the owner was out and about.
I saw a modification to his MH that I had not encountered before. It involved a brass pole rigged on the ramp/patio and a series of very fit and attractive young ladies wearing somewhat less than they would wear to the beach twirling around said pole to a musical accompaniment...
Sorry, no appropriate photos available.

New Galley Faucet
I had a bit of an issue when I first dewinterized the Outlaw. It seems that there was some water trapped in the galley faucet and being that I live at an elevation 0f '7000 feet and the temp routinely gets well below freezing the following occured:
As an FYI the hole in the center is NOT supposed to be there. You shoulda heard my DW shriek when I turned on the water (maybe you did 'cause it was pretty loud).
The new faucet is all brass and will be diligently drained during next the winterizing process next Fall.

Alas, my DW made a pointed argument to the affect that the young ladies in question where somewhere in the same age range as our own sweet daughters and how I would appear to be the biggest creeper of all time were I to start snapping photos of an inappropriate nature. Needless to say no photos were taken.
