Possible fresh water accumulator

Our trial run, the major first thing to try and solve is the water pump cycling - like 5-10 times per second with a sink faucet on full. Once a second at a trickle

First off - is that normal? First RV.

Secondly, assuming it is, I've been doing some searching on here for info on adding an accumulator / pressure tank. It seems a common option (well, maybe standard on higher end coaches).

However, I don't know what (or how to find out) what the pressure cut-in/out values are for my pump (or if they are adjustable like on a typical home system) to help me determine what preset pressure to use.

Additionally, if anyone has a similar coach (Quantum LH26) and could provide suggestions for where to mount it, I'd greatly appreciate it.

TIA!

I added a 2 gallon accumulator tank mounted under the bathroom sink about 5 years ago (it does not matter where in your cold water plumbing one is mounted it will function the same). It stopped my rapid pump cycling problem, but also gives we a reasonable amount of on demand water even when the pump is turned off, enough to flush the toilet and wash hands a couple of times during the middle of the night, etc.

Pulsating/cycling is NOT normal with Faucet full open

Low demand can cause some

Clean:
Pump inlet strainer
Faucet Aerators (blow out lines/faucet w/o aerators to clear lines)
Any filters that water flows thru using the pump

With pump running open low point drains to clear any trapped air, should do same with all faucets, showers, washer line etc
**Trapped air will cause cycling

IF you have a FILL valve (uses city water to fill fresh water tank) make sure it is closed....if open/leaking thru pump round robins from tank back to tank and can cause low pressure/cycling also

As for accumulator, pump adjustments

Brand/Model of Pump
Some benefit with accumulator
Some do not

Accumulator tanks
Small ones work
Air pressure s/b same as /close to pump start pressure switch setting
Install on pump discharge where you have access and space
Should also install low drain pipe/valve so accumulator can be drained

Brand/Model of Pump???

Good points - will consider/research all.
