Radio not working-looking for fuse

Hello All,

I have found numerous similar questions, but nothing that specifically covers my RV unit. I hope this isn't too much of a repeat question.

I started the process of de-winterizing our RV. It is a 2019 Thor Hurricane 29M. At this point, I have run everything except for the water systems since I'm in Wisconsin and we still are freezing at night. So far, everything has worked OK, except for the Axxera radio. It will not turn on at all and the lane change and reverse cameras are not coming on.

Troubleshooting done so far:
1. The house batteries are installed and are charged.
2. The battery switch is in the USE position.
3. All the fuses located in the rear of the RV are checked and fine. Our fuse box is located in the side of the bed.
4. I have removed the radio from the dash and checked the power with a volt meter. The power that comes from the engine battery is fine, but the power that is supposed to come from the house batteries reads 1.34 volts.

Everything have read indicates there should be a 2nd fuse box in the front of the RV as well - but I can't find it. The common wisdom seems to be it is somewhere in the footwell of the drivers area.

Can somebody help me find this box on a 2019 Thor Hurricane model 29M?

I have attached some photos of the areas underneath the steering wheel. Two images are on the left hand side of the steering linkage and one is on the right. There are three small boxes behind the steering linkage and to the right of it. I have opened box 1 and it is not a fuse box. The 2nd box is very small (about 1 cubic inch) and does not appear to be openable. I have not opened the 3rd box yet, but the way the wires go into it I doubt it is a fuse box. If everybody says to go with that, I will made it happen.

Thank you in advance.

Making several guesses here, are the boxes in the pics to the right of the steering column? On my F53's (2015,2016)the interior fuse box was to the left of the steering column. Is it possible the carpet was ran up over the fuse box on the left of the steering column?

Of the three boxes you show in the pics, I would have thought Box 1 was the fuse box. Box two looks like a contactor, box 3 looks like a wire harness connector.

I looked all over to the left of the steering column for a fuse box and didn't find anything.

I opened the box on the right (box 1) and it wasn't a fuse box.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Don't try to open any (more) of the boxes shown.

None of the pictures show the Ford Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel (PCFP). Ordinarily one would find it attached to the firewall or side wall near the driver's left knee.

Here's a link to the 2019 Ford F-53 chassis manual. The PCFP is shown on page 84 of the manual. It looks as if fuse 17 is the fuse Ford provided for the radio.

Note: Thor may not have used the fuse/circuit Ford provided for the radio.

Our Axxera radio (different model than yours I think) has a fuse plugged into the back of the radio itself. Also there is a reset hole in the front where you can insert a paper clip or similar.

Thanks for the link to the document. I haven't found anything that looks like that on the firewall or anywhere where the driver's feet go.

I have looked at the fuse on the back of the radio. It is fine. Also, I'm measuring the voltage at the plug coming to the radio (removed from the radio), so where ever the problem is must be upstream of that.

Again, thanks for the suggestions.

Ford provides the PCFP on every F-53 chassis, but the motorhome manufacturer mounts it. It can't be too far from the "usual" position, as there is a bundle of wires attached that limit where it might be mounted. There are other places to look:

1) Under a lift-up section of the dash, if your coach has one
2) Under or inside an interior panel to the left of the driver
3) Under the hood
4) Inside an exterior compartment under the driver's left foot

The latter two are unlikely, but stranger things have happened...

A call to Thor might also reveal the PCFP location.

Well, the mystery of where the fuse block is mounted has been solved. There is a panel on the top of the dash board, above the instrument cluster, that I removed and there was the fuse block in all its glory.

For anybody else looking for this on a 2019 Hurricane 29M.

Thanks for all the advice and assistance. I haven't troubleshot my problem yet, but now I know where the fuses are located.
