Rapid Camp

Finally getting around to studying the tech side of our new challenger. Found an unused/available output on the Rapid Camp and was thinking what I could use to for. Does anyone know anything about programming the remote. At this point I am assuming it is done via the USB port with special software.

Rapid Camp is SO NEW that there is not much known about it...except that it is a LCI system tailored specifically for TMC of their 5 or 8 system Linc System - see: Lincâ„¢ Remote System

It seems to control other LCI equipment and works with the Colorado Carefree awning too...seems to be a system approach vs. a remote control switch.

I already called LCI about a retro-fit and was told - sorry, sold only to OEM and authorized OEM dealers only (only parts to retail customers)

Maybe a call to LCI with specifics would work?

Best luck

Controller outputs are nothing more than low current on/off that control relays.
If there is a function you don't plan to use say generator start - just rewire the generator start relay to the new device. That is my plan, but I would prefer to take advantage of the unused output and have the proper label show up on the display. Somebody will hack it. Guess we just have to wait.

Chuck,

From all your posts about modifications, I am thinking you know this - but just to explain my comment about it being a system controller as opposed to a simple remote switch...

After getting the denial about getting the Linc for my aftermarket use, I found a 4 position remote switch and have started the install...

The Rapid Camp will do things that a simple remote switch is not capable of - like, one touch control (set to the equipment) to open -AND- close an awning.

The info on-line about the Linc is not specific enough to understand how equipment is added to the controller, and the Rapid Camp remote only displays 4 controllable items - right?

So, while the 5th position on the controller looks like it is just a simple low-voltage switch, I think there is more going on there than it appears. The programming you mention would include a selection from a variety of actions possible within the controller as well as remote display functions

BTW, the remote control I found works amazing...even 200yards away! Simple but effective

Best luck

Although not mentioned in the literature that came with my 2014 Hurricane, Rapid Camp works exceptionally well.

Upon arrival at a site I set the parking brake and turn off the ignition, and voilà, Rapid Camp!

On my 2013 Challenger (NO Rapid Camp) I have to have the engine running to deploy the jacks, and the engine off to extend the slides. I guess on your Hurricane everything works with the ignition off?

Same with my Outlaw, except I have Rapid Camp. I haven't even tried to use it with the levers since I have to have the engine running. Maybe I'll try it next time though - leave it running, set the chocks, use Rapid Camp to level it.

I've used it for the slide a bit. It's nice to watch the slide come out and make sure there's nothing in the way when we are close to a tree or something. I haven't used it for anything else, except to test it.
