Recliner to Sofa conversion Hurricane

Has anyone gone from the recliners to a jackknife sofa in a Hurricane (or Windsport) 29M?

Is there anything special about RV furnature other than being expensive and poorly built? Is it a simple as getting a leg kit and attaching it to the slide? Or maybe build a custom cabinet and attach the sofa onto the top. I would need to check the seatbelt situation as kids will be sitting there.

I hate having to drop the table every night for a kid to sleep. After 30 or so times, it's peeling the vinyl off the edge of the table. With the foot rests out, it is always in the way. I would also love to reclaim storage space with some drawers there as well. A 3-4 week trip with 5 humans and a dog requires all storage you can find.

I have a jackknife sofa and would really prefer recliners. Told my wife not to bother ordering a slip cover for the couch.

BTW, you can do a quick and dirty repair on the peeling tabletop edge vinyl by wrapping the perimeter of the table with electrical tape. Stops the snagged shirts...

We purchased it from my grandparents, who decided at 90 it was time to stop RVing. The recliners made total sense for two people but just doesn't meet our needs unfortunately. I slept on the jackknife in our ACE a few times when I was by myself and couldn't put the slide out.

Thanks for the tip on the electrical tape. I may do that until I have time to glue it back down or whatever.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.
