Our is a 2008 31D Hurricane. The passenger seat always seemed to far back when facing forward and when spun to the rear didn't move back enough to be useful. Our feet always dangled.
I got underneath and attached to the frame of the coach was a large bracket with a flat plate lined up with the base of the seat. I started by unbolting and I just moved the rear of the seat base to the front holes, bolted it down and tried it out. It essentially moved the seat forward almost 9 inches. It was much better.
I went to a metal supply shop and picked up a 1/4" thick piece of steel the same width and long enough to reach the new front holes. I also picked up some longer bolts and large flat washers. I drilled through the floor for the new holes(tons of clearance), marked the plate through the floor. Drilled it on my drill press. Since the new plate was bolted below the original plate there was a little space between the floor and the new plate, that's where I used the washers. Everything is perfect, no wobbling, no flex. And much more usable.
As for the height, I took like 2 3/4"s off the first time, ended up taking another 1 1/2"s. Now I'm 6', but always had pain and mild swelling after long drives. This has been absolutely the best mod ever, my heel now rests at a comfortable level. My next mod for the driver side is to add memory foam to the base and possibly the lower back.
When I had the passenger seat out I added some squares from an old 2" memory foam mattress topper. I don't remember if I went with 4"s or 6"s total, but made a world of difference.
When I get around to it I plan on doing the same on the driver seat, but also make a lumbar support too. I plan on gluing layers together then carving it out to shape and fitting under the ultra leather cover.
