Shocks for 2013 ACE 30.1

We need to replace the shocks on our ACE. I've looked on the F53 Chassis Forum, there are a lot of different opinions as to which shocks to get. Has anyone here replaced theirs? If so are you happy with the new ones? Which ones did you get?

Thanks,
Lisa

Keep hearing the Bilsteins work and the Konis are junk. The stock Ford spec Bilsteins are not great.

Shocks for 2013 ACE 30.1

Thorchini,

Thanks. I am leaning toward the Bilsteins - I have heard about the same as you. I hope they are better than the OEM ones.

LVRVLUVR is the guy. He has a shop n Vegas and could probably do the work for you too if you were over that way.

Thanks, again Thorchini. I had also looked at those before posting here. Wanted input from some ACE owners. Wish I was headed toward Vegas, I would try and have LVRLUVR put them on.

What shocks are you running on your Ace?

Well, shocks were not the problem. Lazy Days in Tucson offered to put shims on the springs for 500 dollars. We decided to see what a spring specialist recommended - nothing. The lean has nothing to do with the chassis. There is a 1/8 inch difference from passenger to driver side in the front and none in the back. Basically the chassis/frame is even all the way around. Problem is the box/house itself.

I am still running the stock Bilsteins that came with the rig. I am thinking about adding Sumo springs up front this winter. I have a buddy that has them on his Hurricane and they made a nice difference in his rig. The trick with the Sumos is in the installation, you need 1/2" preload on them to make them work correctly. Winter project.

I found the top bolt on both original shocks on my 2015 30.1 loose causing a lot of noise on slightly bumpy roads. After tightening the ride is much less noisy. I'm also considering a shock change over the winter but can't decide which way to go.
