Hi, new Hurricane owner and wondering if anyone else felt they needed and purchased a steering stabilizer? Did it help? Best place to buy? Thanks

Dave

Nice pic of your rig. I like the bra and shaded windows. We love the hurricane. We do have to have a few things taken care of under warranty but we are very happy we made the switch from 5er to MH. It's much easier to park both forward and back. It's less stable than towing a 5er though. More side to side action which I thought was in the steering up front. Thats why I'm considering steering control. I think I will drive some more before deciding. CW has them on sale right now for 389.00.

Try a rear track bar first.

Once installed, the condition will improve so much that the owner will install the rear track bar afterward because there isn't any such thing as too much of a good thing.

Shock absorbers will add a significant amount of stability as well if chosen wisely.

I totally agree with DRIVER

Thanks Somarmd. on the bra and sunscreens . Next week I am having another 2007 TRAC VISION R5 in-motion sat installed in the rear roof top for those wooded camp parks in case the front R5 doesn't have a clear view , it will also have another 2 more DIRECT TV boxes. For a total of 2 KVH TRAC VISION R5 in- motion sat and 4 Direct TV boxes running 5 tv plasmas.
I just don't want to fool with the extra brand new never use yet portable direct tv dish dual line feeder and the 4 foot tripod I keep under the bed.
Will post pic's next week.

The 06 Ford comes stock with a front track bar.I am sticking to what I wrote. The 34n has a large overhang,I am convinced thats the reason for a needed rear trac bar.Its cheaper to start with the rear, then the front with a safety plus. This is based on my personal experience and the experience of other ford owners I have had contact with.

That said, A Safe-T-Plus will add the ability to counter bump steer and provide a margin of safety absent with stock suspensions by providing an increased amount of control in the event of a blow out.

A front track bar and steering damper is a solution that works in a majority of installations.

To the extreme a Helwig front and rear stabilizer bar will ratchet up roll and yaw control significantly "IF" that's what the owner is asking about.

A track bar functions pooly as a stabilizer bar.

Heres the deal!, I went with the safe t plus first, nice improvement, but not what I was essentially looking for.I was getting a lot of push from trucks and wind. I installed a supersteer and wallah, improvement to the finest extent.Like I said ,Our new Ford chassis do come with a front trac from the factory.I can only assume that what somarmd is looking for is pretty close to what I was looking for in handeling, seeing we have identical MH's. Ultimetly its his dollar.I would still recomend the steering stabilizer, but do the rear trac first. Driver, next April vacation ,yours truly is coming down to clean out Crabby Mikes again. We are at Pirateland april 19 to the 25th.

The 07 Ford's come with front and rear stabilizer bar's as standard equipment. All I added was a "Steer-Safe" steering stabilizer and I have been extremely happy.
