Thor Recall

Thor has recalled 2017-2019 Challengers, Outlaw, and one other model not sure which, for a possible windshield blind malfunction. My letter said the blind can rapidly close while driving because of the blind’s electric motor free spooling. Thor said it was an approximate 15 minute fix. Has anyone had this problem addressed yet? I was wondering what the fix was. I hate to go to Camping World for a fifteen minute (two week) fix!!!

Not sure why you'd go to Camping World for any reason. Any Motor Home service center that deals with Thor can do the recall. In addition, many states won't let you register your vehicle (annual tags) if recall's haven't been performed by an authorized service center.

I had a problem with our 2017 Venetian front windshield blind motor and due to the frustration of working through a Thor dealer on other issues, I went directly to the blind manufacturer. That might work in your case.

I had the same problem in our Aria. Called Irwin, the manufacturer, and the fix they recommend is to install a set screw through the aluminum tube into the motor drive. The hardest part was pulling the motor to measure where to put the screw. Not too hard if you pull the blinds down. I probably spent 30 minutes on it.

Camping World is the authorized dealer in my area, that’s why.
