Turn signal activates mirror camera
Who has got the system when you hit the turn signal, it activates the mirror camera and cuts out the sound on the navigator. I find this annoying and would like to "disconnect" this option. Has anyone done it or can point me in the right direction? Thanks!

The control box that handles that is under the removable panel just in front of my Axis steering wheel.

If Thor hasn't made any changes since my 2017 25.5, there's a control box under the cover on top of instrument cluster. The Yellow wire (Pin 2) controls the left camera. The Green wire (Pin 4) controls the right camera. If you cut both of these wires, then the side cameras will no longer come on. Or, you can unscrew camera 1 and 2. Camera 3 is the Backup Camera. I'm not sure that just unscrewing the two cameras will stop changing the radio screen.

To make the backup camera come on manually, as well as automatically, when in reverse, I spliced a SPDT toggle switch in line with backup camera power cables.

If you just want to cut the radio mute feature, you will need to get a wiring diagram to see which wire goes to the radio.
I switched radios and it doesn't mute when the turn cameras come on.
I also took the camera signal out of that control and ran it to a 7" , 12 volt TV on the dash. Leaves my radio screen for navigating with Google Maps.

Find your camera switching module. Find the left/right turn trigger wires and cut them. You can find them with a volt meter, turning on each left/right turn signal and checking each wire entering the module for voltage. Usually in the "group" of wires entering via a connector. If you find the brand /model of the switching module you may be able to find wiring /installation info on line also.
The switching module chooses which camera input to send to the dash display based on +12 volts being applied to different wires entering in the bundle. I believe "rear camera" is the default with no signals received.
On both my Thor's the switching module was/is where twinboat posted, under the dash access.

Thanks gang and thanks for the pics Rockwood27! That gets me to where I need to go. My rig is still in winter storage but in the spring, this will be on my "to do" list. I believe if one has the capabilities, one can personalize their MH the way THEY like it.

I went the other way and installed a 4 camera DVR and separate monitor.
I also added a camera on the front below the windshield.
Front, back, left, right always display.
It also will record anything that happens around the vehicle.
I am sure the box you want is under the cover in front of the radio.

Hello Summershandy,
My 2019 Outlaw suffered from the same syndrome. My first fix was a firmware update for the Axxera navigation/radio which did solve the audio loss when signaling. I later added a separate LCD for the cams like Twinboat. Much better. I can see the toad while driving and the mirror cams when signaling. Losing the GPS when signaling was unacceptable to me. Lastly, I replaced the axxera with a pioneer unit with AppleCarPlay/AndroidPlay and am now much happier and using Waze!
Hope you find this helpful.

Turn the side cameras off
I found the side cameras distracting, annoying and unnatural. I like to use the actual mirrors while driving. It feels natural as I have been doing all these years driving a pickup. I just went into Axxera settings and turned them off.

Thanks Xathros! Found it interesting about the firmware update and I'm also not fond of the Axxera. I usually install new units in my rigs and probably will in the future.

EXACTLY what I was telling the wife! I've driven and owned trucks and vans with no windows. I find it more dangerous taking your eyes off the road or mirror to stare at a little black and white screen. I find the blind spot mirrors on the Vegas to be very good. Camera's are a nice option if you need them.

Where did you get the firmware update? How was it installed?
Thanks, Mark

Can't answer that as I haven't tried nor have the answer. Maybe Xath or someone else could answer that for us?

Hi Mark,
I found the link here on the forum several years back. Search “Axxera firmware update “ and you should easily locate what you need.
