Any ideas on where to look for the actual components of the system (BIRD device or the big-a$$ relay(s) needed to make it work)? I'd love to be able to tell my friend where to look in order to confirm it's there on the XTE he's looking at.

Thanks!
On my XTE 36MQ the components are in the last rear compartment on the right (starboard/passenger) side. The same compartment as the Magnum inverter. The relay is within a foot of the BIRD box that is well labeled.

As a side note, I don't think my BIRD is working on shore power as I measured different voltages on the chassis and house batteries when connected to shore power. I plan to have it checked on my next trip to the shop.

Thanks, hikersc! I'll pass that on to my friend. Appreciate the info!

HikerSC....would you mind posting a pic? The compartment that you mention on mine holds the Magnum inverter & a few other components.

I'd happily snap a pic of the location of Mike, but the rig is frozen in place! (Drivers side against garage wall, snow/ice in front of rig)

Thanks!!!!

Sorry this took a while as my unit was in storage. Here is a photo. The BIRD has the four wires and the Relay is on the far right. Both are below the Magnum Inverter.

Yes, thanks Hikersc & everyone else, I was wondering the same thing. Just purchased our 1st DP on 2/20 - 2015 Tuscany XTE 34ST. My compartment looks very similar. Was wondering, do you have a fan set up in that compartment or maybe this is new for the 2015? When we took our 1st trip, 1st weekend in March this fan would not turn off. We only drove 2.5 hours with invertor on to run refer. We had to manually unplug the little temp sensor hanging inside the compartment after several hours & the compartment door left open. This is the worst design I've ever seen. The fan is on top & the "intake" for the fan is just below? The "intake" is pulling from the engine area. In theory it should pull cool air from the outside across the components. The compartment is made of steel, it's located directly above the exhaust with no heat shield or insulation of some sort in between. This seems like a recipe for component failure to me? Thoughts ??? Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread & should start a new one ?
