Use overhead Bunk for storage ACE 30.1

As we head toward full timing, we would like to use the overhead bunk for storage, including while it is traveling from place to place. We are both short enough that we can drive comfortably with the bunk down. Taking safety into consideration we would like to add something to the rear of the bunk so that if/when we have to jam on brakes or stop short (or heaven forbid an accident) the items would stay in the bunk area. Has anyone added/made/had made something to do this?

Plastic and RubberMaid bins and boxes come in all sizes and colors easy to label. Also easy to move and transport.

I made a panel out of Luan(v. thin) plywood. It's thin enough to allow normal bunk operation & stiff enough to provide a fence to keep a sleeper from falling to their death. There's another piece of equal size that you can't see--I made a hinge of packing tape to join them. The part under the mattress supports the fence fine and they fold down to make a thin enough package for raising the bunk. Hope this will help.

Thanks Harry Joe for posting this great idea. Been trying to come up,with an easy idea to keep kids from rolling off the pull down bunk. I like your fix.
