Wimpy Horn

2017 Sprinter Chassis, under a Thor Synergy 24' 2018 body. The standard 6 cyn Mercedes Benz diesel engine....
My problem is the standard horn sounds like a toot toot whistle. I would like to add or change it out for a two tube self generating air horn.
Does anyone know what and where the 12v power line is from the horn button to the actual horn?
To get at the horn, it looks like you would have to pull off most of the front end because it is hidden behind it, and I cannot find or see the wiring to the horn itself. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Larry

every 12 v horn that I have ever seen has a red power and a black ground wire going to the back of the horn because that is where the magnets are that vibrate the horn plate. Feel around the back, especially at the bottom back and you will probably find a weather tight plug going into the horn. Just an aside, if space is already tight you may have trouble finding space and amperage to put in 2 horns and a compressor. Maybe a new and louder horn might be easier. Just sayin'.

Wimpy Horn

Thanks...horn is buried so deep under the front end that you cannot get at the horn or wiring. I will look for the red and black wiring....

I think they just use left over VW Bug horns on these MB Sprinters!!!

To get the best bang for your buck, a trick I learned from my older brother back in 1971, when I was dealing with a wimpy MC horn:

It is small and simple, and not readily available in salvage yards anymore, but you can find them online: a 6V horn. Hooked to 12V, a 6V horn screams like an air trumpet.

I ran it on my 1971 Honda 500-4 for six years with no problems; but a lot of stares and double takes when I used it! A real attention getter!
