I just had to respond because not many Windsport owners check in. I have a 2000 Windsport and we love it and just took it all the way to Key West from the Seattle area and it performs perfectly.

We over loaded it and still had no issues with weight. Enjoy your Windsport, great MH.

yea , not many windsport owners out there i guess. its a shame because they do seem to be a nicely made unit. i used to have one up the street from me ,but that disappeared awhile back. we met several ws owners at the rv show in hershey last year, and they had a bunch of small problems, but i think they were still happy with their units. we justr turned the 12k mark and it still looks like new.

Hello, I have not had my Windsport weighed but just wanted to say hello to fellow Windsport owners. I have a 98 Windsport with a 99 F53 chassis rated at 18,000 GVWR thus I would guess the RV is probably around 12,000 lbs. I have taken my RV on numerous excursions in which I have only had a few minor problems.

hi, i know mine weighs 17900# by the printout on the cabinet wall. i was asking if anyone has had their unit weighed using the corner method that they do in these rallies. i just spent several hours replacing the steel screws on the awning drip rails with stainless screws, because i hate the junk screws the factories use in these things. eventually i'll have all the exterior screws replaced. i did the same on the last two mhs.

That is a good idea. I agree with the quality of screws used on these RVs. I too have replaced numerous fasteners with either better grade quality steel and or stainless. The biggest problem I have with my RV would be corrosion around many of the grounds. I've been chasing an intermitent short I have with my rear running lights including the tail lights. Can't seem to find the bad ground.

best thing you can do for all those light sockets is get some "thomas and betts" copper cote paste and coat the contacts and bulb contacts. i looked at my bulb sockets when i first bought mine home and they were already starting to rust. its always something that needs to be done, i'm glad i'm retired and can spend time on this stuff.

As a previous Windsport (1999, model 34H on a Ford 20,500lb chassis) owner, I had to jump in here to say I agree with the comments about the Windsport being a good unit. We had ours for a couple years, but needed to upgrade due to needing a unit with slides (the 34H had none)

I did weigh our Windsport, but unfortunately don't have the weight slip any longer. I do know that it weighed right around 18,300 fully loaded and I was happy that I had 2000 lbs of addtional carrying capacity. Some of the 34H models were also built on the 18,000 chassis, which if ours was, I would have been overweight.

I even just now went back through all of my weight records from the 2009 iRV2 rally in which we weighed all the units in attendance but no Windpost owners attended this year so I don't have any weights to share.

I weighed my 2008 Windsport 34B the other day. It was full of fuel, propane and water. The holding tanks were empty. It had all of out normal traveling supplies with the exception of food, clothes and people.

It came in at 20700 lbs.

Unfortunately, I was only able to weigh the total, left side and right side not each axle or each corner.

Mine is built on a Ford 22,000lbs chassis.
