We have a 2012 Monaco Knight with the Maxxforce 10 and have not had any issues with it. We are very happy with the fit and finish of the RV.

Great engine, no DEF, wet sleeve, roller cam. Mid duty engine built like the big ones and it enjoys being driven hard, Don't baby it.

One question would be one of service availability, as compared to a Cummins or CAT. Oil and filter changes not an issue, but if more in-depth repairs are ever needed.

Also resale value and desirability. Potential buyers questioning, as you are.

Not sure why you would bring up service availability, there seem's to be an International Dealer in every city from small to large. You may find the odd one that won't work on a coach, but we sure haven't had any problems so far.

We did need to get a new wiring harness on ours and I had no problems getting it worked on. So far we really like the engine and coach had it since new and just hit 30k for miles today.

I brought up the question of service availability so as to draw responses from experience. Exactly as you responded. (-:

Rush Trucking and Bus is an authorized service dealer for Navistar products. They have over 100 service centers across the US. I had warranty work done in the Bus Center here in Atlanta. They know the Maxxforce engines since they do most of the school bus service here in Atlanta. Good service and great people.

I own a 2011 Knight and just turned 34,000 miles on it. I bought it new and have had no real problems with it, but the best advice I received early on was to drive it HARD! It was explained to me that the engine was built to push (pull) significantly heavier loads than a typical rv and it likes to be worked. We love the coach!

I see only 5 states for Rush Trucking and Bus. Looking for service in Oregon.

Any thoughts?
