MaxxForce 10 stops

My daughter recently purchased a 2011 holiday rambler it has an unusual problem the check engine light comes on and The check transmission light comes on engine goes to 600 Rpm And transmission to neutral . Turn the key off and restart Engine And everything works. There’s probably A loose connection somewhere hoping somebody might have had this problem before any help appreciated

There should be a way to access the diagnostic error code from the panel as I recall, at least on my 2012 Monaco with Maxxforce. See if she can pull the code to see what the code is for diagnostic information. There is also a way to check the diagnostics of the transmission directly from the panel. Specifically I remember it will tell you life left of the transmission fluid in percentage, fluid level etc. How to do this should be in the owners manual but don't remember the specific procedure off the top of my head.
First thing to check would be the level of fluid in the transmission that can also be done using the dipstick in the back.

Thanks for your reply I have checked there is no codes when this happens I also took at the repair shop to check for codes. This problem happens almost every time you drive the coach. The keyswitch resets it which is odd.

On mine, when I had a stop engine light coming on, turning off the key will temporarily reset the code but the problem would show itself again within a few minutes. It turned out that the coolant level was low.

To Display Diagnostic Codes on the Maxxforce from the manual:

"1 Stop the motorhome at a safe location.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Simultaneously press the up and
down arrows 5 times to enter
diagnostic mode.
The codes will display one digit at a time
or two characters at a time. Press the mode
button to scroll through the codes. Record
all diagnostic codes that are displayed.
The codes are used by an Allison service center for diagnostics and evaluation."

There are other procedures for showing transmission fluid level (too low or high), filter life etc. Suggest you consult the manual for all of the procedures but pretty simple.

The dealer should be able to pull up a "history" of the codes that have happened.
