Maxxforce 7 ECM COMM Fail

Hi and thanks in advance for your help!

I have an Allegro Breeze 2012 with a Maxxforce7 engine. I just came back from Florida a few days ago and during my trip, this problem happened twice:

I'm on the road and then all of a sudden, the engine stops and the "check engine" light turns on, then i see this message: "ECM comm FAIL". I stay on the side of the road, trying to restart the engine and after 5 minutes or so, the light comes off and i'm able to go.

Could it just be a loose connector or the ECM box is screwed?

Thanks in advance!

If you are lucky it could be just a loose connection. A couple of years ago I experienced a loose connection between the turbo and the ECM. The fix that the Navistar dealer came up with was to hard wire it in place. We had the check engine light come on but the engine seemed to be running ok at the time. Good luck.
