Bought a 2013 monoca international in April this year in TX. Left dealer Drove 10 miles. Dash lights flashing. Waited Lights went out. Drove 20 miles. Lites out. One more then home. Called dealer. Stepped me through process. Left to go north to MN where our home is. Shop. Repair. Dealer paid to fix it. Left shop. One block. Another code. Soot in turbos. Dealer said our fault. We drove it too long. They paid the 1st bill. That shows they took responsibility.

Do you have a question? What engine does your rig have?
For your sake, I hope it doesn’t have the International. (Navistar).

Oh my. Yes it’s an international. Question is did we hurt something by driving it three time for 1000 miles but paid attention to the lights and stopping. Maxxforce 10. Does that make sense. Sorry. It’s been in the shop since we bought it. I think that’s what my son called it

Yes Maxforce.
No it’s all Navistar issues. We had a fleet of the Maxforce engines in med duty trucks and had to sue to get out of the lease agreement because the emissions systems on them are so horrible rendering them completely un-reliable.
Google class action law suits against International and Navistar.

So I’ve read some of the articles your recommended. Did the lawsuit include engines like motorhomes

Head on over to the Maxxforce Engine forum here and post up codes and what history you have. You’ll likely get a bit different response than they’re junk. Bottom line is you need to get some education on how these things work, what the typical problems are, and what the typical solutions are. Otherwise, you’re at the mercy of the dealer or shop. Only thing I really know/have heard about them is they like to be run hard. That’ll keep the soot out of your turbo.

The max 10 likes to be run like you stole it. Don't let it idle when you set up or tear down. It will soot the turbo with to mush idling. There is a port on the turbo that they use to pit the cleaner thru. Can remember where on the turbo it is.

Agree with above. Go to high idle if it needs to idle at all. Keep rpm’s up by shifting to a lower gear. Most motorhome drivers won’t like driving the way required to keep them from stopping up the CAC and DPF though. The early versions were less reliable than later. My 2013 IH truck had to be towed 7 times the first 2 years. Was at the shop many more though. And I drove it like I stole it lol.
OP your MH engine is same as truck, just plumbing for CAC and exhaust different. I don’t know specifics on law suits, was just giving you ammunition to show you are not at fault for breakdown.
