Going to pony up and buy best available sotfware for this engine..


Anyone here done this and what did you buy


See the insite lite from cummins and the J1939 hardware plus subscription


Is there aftermarket that can do the same see some have a less price tag

Insite is the only that I have found.... Ebay can help on cost for the adapter/interface gizmo that connects to your laptop using USB port.

Pro insite = allows changes to engine software if needed.... Most likely yours is up to date
Lite insite = everything but engine software Codes and operational are able to change

700 Per year... Cummins gets you one way or the other

So i have seen the hardware on ebay


Ok to buy is it compatable with cummins software..cummins dont care where you source the stuff and you just have to purchase the yearly subscription


So for an engine from 2008 can you buy a one year subsrciption and be good to go..

Am guessing that most updates have already taken place just want to do troubleshooting

If you are trying to circumvent the 2007 EPA rules ( which this is what it sound's like), then be aware - many place are being fine heavily.
