2008 Monaco Cayman XL Cummins ISB 325(?)

Well I was working on replacing the original radiator hose on my brothers coach and I had to access the hose through the hatch in the back of the coach...well while trying to reach the hose connection under the alternator I broke a sensor that was located on the top on what I would call the valve cover (on a gas engine )toward the rear of the engine. I haven't removed the sensor yet, but the connector with the wires attached broke off the sensor.

I hope this makes sense, I have no pictures but the engine is black not the red variety, if that makes any difference. I know enough about mechanical repair to get into trouble easily; however, this looks like a simple part removal and replacement.

Any help in finding a replacement sensor would be most welcome as I have had no luck so far and don't know what the sensor does.

Mike

Being on the valve cover it might not be a sensor, possible it’s a vent solenoid for the diesel pcv ( positive crankcase ventilation ) system .
I retired from Dodge/ Cummins in 07 and the diesel emissions systems were changing rapidly.
Best would be to call Cummins with your engine serial number.

Thanks for the suggestion. Did exactly as you suggested and the Customer Care representative provided me with several diagrams of the ISB. Turns out the sensor was not on the valve cover but next to it. I removed the part and took it to a NAPA dealer who looked it up by coach information (surprised it was in their database) and he identified the part as a Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor https://www.ebay.com/i/264722711524?chn=ps

I appreciate your reply and I should have thought about calling Cummins on my own.

Take care, Mike

To send a PM , ( personal Message ) click on my user name and select the PM option. You cannot attach files to a PM , but we can exchange e mail addresses without them being available to everybody .

Or you can just add the PDFs to this post and I'll get them here .

Are you saying that I can only attach PDFs? If so it would explain why I can't attach a Word docx. I will email the docx as an attachment to you, shortly.
