2011 ISB 6.7 starting problem question

Turn ignition to start will not turn engine. Leave ignition on jumper to relay and solenoid starts right up.

Are you jumping the solenoid at the starter , or jumping the starter relay , that feeds the starter solenoid.

I have jumped it at the starter and there is relay in my back compartment also, That I jumped from what looks like a solenoid to the relay there. It starts from either place.

The starter relay in the compartment , needs to see a ground supplied from the trans controller ( indicating trans in neutral ) and power from the ignition key .
Can you have someone hold the ignition in the start position while you check for power at the small posts , with a volt meter or 12 volt test light .

Can you add more info about your coach ; chassis manufacturer? diesel pusher ? Trans model ?

If you can post a photo of the compartment relay , I can probably give more help .

It is a 2011 Tiffin allegro RED, allison 2500 transmission. Attached is the photo upper left corner is the relay and on the right corner is what I am jumping from. The 2 relays there have switched them around they are same no change. Running my jumper solenoid in the upper right of picture. Thanks

Ken picture didn't come through , did you resize it ? 640 pixels works best for me , and wait till the attachment box says " download complete."

Is the RED a front engine diesel chassis ?
Does your 2500 series have a push button or lever shifter?

Were both still viewing the posts so you maybe typing while I am.

Back to my questions about chassis and shifter .

Some members with Freightliner chassis and an Arens shifter , see photo of side of trans ( 2500 series ) have had issues with the shift motor blowing fuses and not completing shifts . Does this look anything like the side of your trans?

Check the wire harness connection at the transmission for corrosion.

You'll need to contact Freightliner for wiring/testing info on the shift mechanism .
We need to consider that the shifter may not be providing a " neutral safety signal " to the starter relay to allow the engine to be started by the key .

Have your chassis serial number handy and call .
1-800-385-4357

If you get the info and have any problems with diagnosis , send me a private message and I'll do what I can to help.
With three others having issues with the Arens shift mechanism , I'm detecting a trend .
